Setup
Step onto the treadmill with feet on the side rails, not the belt. Start the machine at a slow walking pace, then step onto the moving belt one foot at a time, holding the handrails briefly for balance.
How to do it
- Land midfoot directly under your hips with each stride.
- Keep your chest up and eyes forward, not down at your feet.
- Swing your arms naturally at your sides in rhythm with your legs.
- Maintain steady breathing that matches your pace and effort level.
- Gradually increase speed by small increments once you find your rhythm.
Watch out for
- ✗Holding onto the handrails continuously, which forces an unnatural posture and reduces workout effectiveness.
- ✗Over-striding by reaching the foot too far forward, creating excessive impact on joints.
- ✗Looking down at the console or feet constantly, causing neck strain and balance issues.
