Setup
Set both cable pulleys to the lowest position and attach D-handles. Stand centered between the machines with feet hip-width apart, grasp a handle in each hand with palms facing forward, and step forward slightly to create tension in the cables with arms extended low and wide.
How to do it
- Pull both handles upward and inward in a wide arc, bringing your hands together at chest height directly in front of you.
- Keep a slight bend in your elbows throughout the entire movement and maintain that same angle.
- Squeeze your chest hard at the top position where your hands meet for one second.
- Lower the handles back down along the same arc path with control, feeling a stretch across your chest.
- Keep your torso stable and avoid leaning or twisting as you move the cables.
Watch out for
- ✗Bending the elbows too much during the movement, which turns it into a pressing motion instead of a fly.
- ✗Using momentum or swinging the torso to move the weight rather than controlling it with the chest muscles.
- ✗Not bringing the hands high enough at the top, which reduces the contraction in the upper chest.
