Setup
Stand upright holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides with arms straight. Position your feet hip-width apart with core engaged and chest up.
How to do it
- Step forward with one leg and lower your back knee toward the ground until both knees form roughly 90-degree angles.
- Keep your front knee tracking over your toes without letting it collapse inward.
- Push through your front heel to stand up and bring your back foot forward into the next lunge.
- Maintain an upright torso throughout the movement without leaning forward.
- Continue alternating legs as you walk forward with each step.
Watch out for
- ✗Taking steps that are too short, which prevents proper depth and muscle engagement.
- ✗Allowing the front knee to cave inward instead of staying aligned with the toes.
- ✗Leaning the torso too far forward instead of keeping the chest up and core braced.
